How therapy works:
-
The first step is an initial consultation. During this meeting, we’ll get to know each other a bit better. You’ll have the opportunity to share what brings you to therapy, the challenges you're facing, and your goals for therapy. This is also a time for you to ask any questions you may have about the process.
The free consultations are 20 minutes long and can be done in person or online.
-
My usual sessions are 50 minutes long. I also offer 30 minute sessions for briefer interventions or follow ups.
The first 1-3 sessions are used to outline your needs when it comes to therapy. The following sessions are used to focus on the goals we’ve set and work actively towards them.
Therapy is most effective when we meet regularly. I recommend a weekly or bi-weekly schedule to maintain momentum and create consistent support. As you progress, the frequency of sessions may change depending on your needs
-
I use a variety of evidence-based therapeutic methods, each designed to help you manage life’s challenges in a way that works best for you. Depending on your needs, we might use one or more of the following:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Helps you identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors, so you can start feeling better and acting in ways that align with your goals.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): Focuses on accepting difficult emotions while committing to actions that are meaningful and aligned with your values.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): Ideal for managing strong emotions and building healthier relationships, DBT helps you develop skills for emotional regulation and mindfulness.
I believe therapy should be as unique as you are, so I’ll work with you to find the approach (or combination of approaches) that best fits your needs. If you have a preference, I’m happy to discuss it, but my role is to guide you in choosing the method that will help you create lasting, positive change.
-
The length of therapy can vary depending on your goals and needs. Some people find they make significant progress in just a few sessions, while others may benefit from longer-term support. Together, we’ll set goals and check in regularly to see how things are going, adjusting the length of therapy as needed to ensure you're getting the most out of our time together.
Whether you're looking for short-term help with a specific issue or long-term growth, we’ll find a pace that works for you.

Your Privacy: Your privacy and comfort are my top priority. Any personal information you share will be kept confidential, and I will always explain the limits of confidentiality in our first session.
